Presentation of People's Party

People's Party (Narodna partija) was founded in November 2009. Its core was the Citizens' Group - Maja Gojković (Grupa gradjana - Maja Gojković), an independent list which ran the general elections previous year, named after the list bearer, previously the Mayor of Novi Sad (2004-2008) and the Vice President of the Serbian Radical Party, from which she was expelled under still unexplained circumstances: there were no reports nor rumours about conflicts in the party, which only informed the media that Ms Gojković is no longer a member, in response to inquiries about her absence from all the lists of candidates. Gojković also became the president of the new party.
In 2010, the People's Party joined United Regions of Serbia (Ujedinjeni regioni Srbije), a coalition of nationwide and regional parties, with which it ran general elections in 2012, but was expelled after the elections due to disagreements about the future coalitions, having kept two seats the People's Assembly of Serbia which were allocated to it.
In December 2012, the party merged into the Serbian Progressive Party (Srpska napredna stranka), one of its Representatives following the suit, while the other re-joined United Regions of Serbia.

Flag of the People's Party

The flag of the People's Party is prescribed in Article 5 of the Party's Statutes (text).

The party has an emblem and a flag.

The party's emblem is square-shaped, divided into two parts, the orange part being its 2/3 and the purple part being its 1/3.
In the purple part, a tulip symbol in white color is inscribed, which occupies 2/3 of the upper part of total area of the purple part, and in the orange part, the letters НП [NP] in white color are inscribed, which occupy 1/3 of the bottom part of orange area.
The orange part is placed in the left-hand half of the square, while the purple part is in the right-hand half of the square. A white line divides the orange and purple areas. The writing "People's Party" is inscribed in purple color and is placed beneath the square in the bottom part.

The party's flag is orange-purple colored, with proportions 1:2.
In the purple part, a tulip symbol in white color is inscribed, which occupies 2/3 of the upper part of the total area of the purple part, and in the orange part, the letters НП [NP] in white color are inscribed, which occupy 1/3 of the bottom right-hand part of the orange area. There is no white area to dividethe orange and purple parts.
The orange part is placed in the left-hand half of the square, while the purple part is in the right-hand half of the square.
The orange color occupies 5/6 of the flag's area: CMYK palette 0,60,100,0 and RGB palette 245,130,22.
The purple color occupies 1/6 of the flag's area: CMYK palette 85,100,20,35 and RGB palette 59,24,90.

The official descriptions of the emblem and flag and their actual designs do not seem to match each other completely. The emblem can be seen at the party's website page header and at the photo of the entrance to the party's headquarters in Novi Sad.
A photo of the flag was taken under a very oblique angle, possibly at the party's headquarters. Several photos, neither of them giving a complete view of the flag, were taken in Novi Sad on 16 April 2009 (photo, photo, photo, photo). Another photo, which also gives an incomplete view of the flag, although less so than the above examples, was taken on 4 October 2010 at the local branch from the town of Sombor.
Despite the lack of better photos, it is visible that the positions of the white charges on the orange and purple fields of the flag are the same as those of the emblem. The colors seem to match the values given in the Statutes.

The predecessor of the party emblem and flag was the emblem of the Citizens' Group - Maja Gojković, which employed a white tulip on orange field, accompanied with the name "Maja" inscribed beneath the tulip in white and looking like written by hand (possibly copying Ms. Gojković's handwriting). The shape of the tulip and the shade of orange were the same as used later by the People's Party.

From the first aforementioned photo, the flag seems to have been used with 2:3 proportions.
